A Happy Fourth!

Brooks just enjoyed his first Fourth of July!!! He had a blast at the pool with his new float and hangin with his Mama and Daddy and Aunt Jenny.  We watched fireworks at Wills Park in Alpharetta and he actually enjoyed them!  We knew it could go either way so we were quite surprised and excited to see him look up and smile at the fireworks and not bust out crying along with the loud pops and bangs.  He couldn't quite make it through the finale, though.  Bless his heart....he zonked out in my arms! 

Not only did this past weekend mark his first July 4th celebration, he also decided he was ready to stand up and stay up!!  He still needs help getting to the upright position but once he's there, he can hold strong for 3 or 4 minutes!! Wooohoooo....goooo Brooks!! We're super proud!!  He relies on some support from his friend, Mr. Coffee Table.  He can also take a few steps forward while holding our hands.  I don't think he's too far from taking off on his own without any help or hand holding at all.  I guess now it's our turn to hold on for dear life! ; )
