Our trip to Jax!

We've been so busy lately I'm a tad behind on postings.  Recently, Brooks and I took an excursion to visit my sister and her family in Jacksonville.  We had such a fun time!!

Another first for Brooks while we were there!  He took 6 steps!!! Yaaaaaay for my growing boy :)
My niece, Emerson, got his "footage" {pun intended!} on video and now we'll always have it as a treasured memory.

Brooks absolutely loves his cousins and Aunt and Uncle!  My sweet sister Leah is "The Baby Whisperer" for sure!  Brooks just adores her!  My heart was so full that weekend.

We enjoyed another first for Brooks too...the ocean!  He smiled and splashed and laughed and soaked it all in!

Here are a few pics from our fun visit.  We can't wait to get back soon!

Taylor and I played dress up in Claire's. ; ) How funny are these fake pigtails?!

We found a fire truck!  Perfect photo op in anticipation of Brooks's upcoming birthday theme!

A little light reading.

Brooks meets girlfriends almost anywhere.  I'm in trouble!

Now, we're awaiting the rest of the fam to return from their Israel trip.  They are having an amazing time and thank you to everyone who is praying for safe travels for them! I cannot wait to hear all the details when they get back.  We've been getting some great stories over our brief phone calls and are ready to hear about their adventure in person!!

Dylan's Happy 30th!!!

We celebrated Dylan turning the big 3-0 yesterday!  Wooohooo!!!! Though, he still doesn't look a day over 25 ;)

We began the festivities when he got home from work with balloons and birthday presents! I had to play the Happy Birthday Song via YouTube since I've completely lost my voice.  I have impeccable timing.  It was quite funny though!  Brooks thought it was, that's for sure!

Dylan enjoyed opening his sweet, generous cards and gifts.

Then, we marched over to a favorite restaurant of ours, SIP, that is super close and convenient for baby Brooks as well.  We dined on ahi tuna tartare, fried chicken with spicy pickles, and a delish cheese platter with smoked cheddar, toasted baguettes and a fabulous fruity chutney spread.

Back at home, we enjoyed Dylan's yummy red velvet bday cake!

Such a fun, family night!

As time continues to push us on in age, in our relationship, in our values and goals, we remain ever mindful that aging is all part of the fun! And quite necessary don'tcha think?! With age comes wisdom and that is one great gift, after all!!  I've been so blessed to watch Dylan grow into such an amazing father and husband and appreciate him letting me be a part of the ride.

Celebrate, we will!!  Happy 30th year of life, my love!!
