A Meal Fit for a Queen!

Our big Christmas gift to each other this year came in the form of our new king size bed, so I surely haven't been expecting any more surprises.  This weekend, however, my sweet husband prepared a meal for me that was fit for a queen!  We put the baby to bed and he grilled out steaks and brought in Blue Point oysters from Whole Foods.  He cracked the oysters himself and threw those bad boys on some ice with lemon.  We had all the must-have accompaniments of course: Crackers, horseradish, cocktail and hot sauce. Even made some mignonette sauce!  My.absolute.fave.

We thoroughly enjoyed date night in our dining room. We played some Christmas music on our vinyl player and talked and talked.  I can sit and talk with him for hours!! What a joy. Thanks Dylan-for making me slow down a little and enjoy the best life has to offer...steak, oysters, and YOU! :)

Christmas House Tour 2014

Our sweet little home got quite a bit of Christmas cheer this year and we wanted to share!  I love to decorate for Christmas but I think my husband actually loves it more than I do.  So we had to "compromise" on some things.  In the end, I think we did a pretty good job this year!  These are some iphone pics, so not the best quality but you get the gist.  ENJOY!! We sure have ; )

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped
in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was
with the angel a multitude of the
heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, good will toward men.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, LOVE THE BOWDEN'S!

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

We have had a great December so far!  Here are some updates and photos during our favorite time of year!

Two weekends ago we put the finishing touches on our Christmas tree and decorated our entire house {more on that later}. We also had Breakfast with Santa at our neighborhood club house!  However, Brooks wasn't too sure about our jolly ole bearded friend.  He cried when we tried to put him on Santa's lap, poor little guy.  We couldn't quite get the picture we desired but we got a few that are funny and cute enough to share.  : )

Santa, I will touch your finger but there is no way I'm sitting on your lap!!!
Just bring my presents, okay???

I'm good right here, mama.
Hangin with Daddy in the safe zone...outta Santa's site! lol

Always happy to run around with the big kids.

And even happier to pose with Santa's Little Helpers!  Little ladies man for sure.

Next up, we visited the pretty Christmas Tree at The Collection.

This big boy is so proud to be walking!!

And also proud to show that he is one year old!

And this weekend, we had tons of fun with Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Jenny! We opened Christmas gifts and even celebrated an early birthday for Grandma.  After all the gifts, we took care of some business and the whole fam pitched in to help us move furniture and finish our second guestroom. More to come on that later too!

Here we gooooo!!  Presents galore!

Thanks grandpa!! My very own remote control car.

We went to First Baptist Church Atlanta for a fun Christmas special Saturday night and then finished the weekend off right at Cheesecake Factory for Sunday lunch. Great way to spend a great weekend with my sweet mama and daddy!
